Samalona Island

Samalona Island is a small island with a cluster of round-shaped coral island with an area of 2.34 hektar.di Makassar Strait, the Island Samalona precisely in the south west coast of South Sulawesi.

Administratively, this island including the city of Makassar , South Sulawesi. Position more precisely located on the west district Wajo, Makassar , is approximately 2 km and can be seen clearly from these districts.

Samalona Island is one of 11 islands in the city of Makassar . The island is very famous as a snorkeling and diving. Sea coral islands scattered around the park formed under the sea is very beautiful with a variety of colorful fish.

To reach this island could use fishing boats (boats with outboard engines) and requires a travel time of no more than 0.5 hours. On this island stands a lighthouse that is used as boundary markers mainland for big ships.
